Location of Works

Click the location title to list artists with works on display at that location. Information on how to borrow works from UECLAA is available on request.

UECLAA Store
The largest part of the collection is stored in two environmentally controlled store rooms located in the University campus. The first of them contains mainly three dimensional works such as sculptures and objects, and the second store is fitted with a picture racking system which holds framed paintings, photographs, drawings and prints. Unframed works are kept in drawer cabinets, and classified by country. Researchers can request access to the stores by booking a visit through the curator on the following email: harwjs@essex.ac.uk

Albert Sloman Library
Highlights from UECLAA are on display at the Albert Sloman Library building, in displays that change twice every academic year. Especial donations and emblematic works are given a permanent place in the building, such as the first donation to UECLAA: Memoria, the painting by Siron Franco, donated by Charles Cosac.

For information about the Library opening times, please visit: libwww.essex.ac.uk/about/hours.htm

Essex University Campus
A group of large scale sculptures from the collection can be seen without appointment in the University grounds located in Wivenhoe Park. There is also a selection of UECLAA artworks in board rooms and department reception rooms of the University, not available for public viewing. UECLAA also organises displays of the collection in thematic group or solo exhibitions in the University gallery.

For information about the gallery programme contact gallery director, Jessica Kenny on: kennj@essex.ac.uk

firstsite
Recently, UECLAA has entered into a partnership with firstsite, the leading contemporary visual arts organisation in Essex, which aims to create a permanent space for the collection in an outstanding new visual arts facility in Colchester. In preparation for this new space, firstsite holds regular exhibitions of contemporary Latin American art in collaboration with UECLAA.
